Meta Terms

These are the General Rules for the group of sites developed and maintained by Sebastien Pelletier (member name Vesperknight) referred to as Faces of Gaming Network or FOGN for short. They're applicable to any Faces of Gaming Network site, current and future, in addition to their forums.

The Faces of Gaming website is part of the ever growing Faces of Gaming Network and upon signing up you will be able to log in on any site of the network including the Faces of Gaming Network Discussion Forum.

You can also review our Terms of Use, which outline further obligations you agree to follow when using the Faces of Gaming Network website.

You can also review our Privacy Policy, which outlines our obligations and practices towards handling any personal information that you may provide to us.

Elements of the Faces of Gaming Network sites, including commenting and rating submissions, as well as their images and files linked with the forums, are considered as having a bi-directional relationship; all rules apply to both. Faces of Gaming Network sites, as well as their forums, share the same membership database. Thusly, registering on a Faces of Gaming Network site also registers you on the forums and vice-versa; subjecting you to the rules of each.

Faces of Gaming Network sites are community-driven websites for people of all ages to share news, files, images, videos and talk about anything gaming-centric. Be advised that most of the content available on Faces of Gaming Network sites is user-generated; not by the staff, nor admin of these sites.

Members of all ages use Faces of Gaming Network sites, both young and old. As a result, the maturity of content can vary. Users are encouraged to ignore any content that they believe may be inappropriate. In this manner we hope to promote an inviting environment for everyone.

Faces of Gaming Network sites are open to individuals aged 13 or older. For legality purposes, minors under the age of 13 aren't allowed to use the sites, nor register an account. Similarly, content noted as ‘adults-only' is strictly limited to users aged 18 or over.

Please review all the rules to ensure you understand everything that you're agreeing to. These rules are guidelines for both administrators and moderators on Faces of Gaming Network sites. It's imperative that you understand them if you want to contribute to a Faces of Gaming Network site. It's worth noting that there might be rules and protocols that go unmentioned in the terms, but will be enforced by administrators and moderators of the sites. Use common sense. We have a no tolerance for breaking our terms, and people will be banned from the site without warning if they ignore them. Ignorance is not a valid defense.

We reserve the right to change these Terms of Service at any time. It is the sole responsibility of users to keep current with the terms of service agreement. Drastic alterations to the terms will be publically advertised on both the Faces of Gaming Network sites, and the forums.

Uploading Files, Images and Videos

The primary role of Faces of Gaming Network sites is to provide a platform for its members to share their content between each other via the file and image databases. Content uploaded to Faces of Gaming Network sites is not immediately moderated by staff members, and is instantly available for download when it's published to the site. While this system is open to abuse, the moderation staff will stoically remove rule-breaching content in a timely manner. We do, however, rely on members of these sites to help us moderate site content by reporting any such content suspect of breaching the file sharing rules.

All files uploaded must have been created by the uploading member, or with permission from the original author of the content. You may be asked for proof of an agreement with the content's author if the situation warrants it. In cases where a user has such permission they must credit the author who gave them that permission to use their content.

Any files containing sexual images or references to sexual acts with minors (people under the age of 18 or people who look under the age of 18) and animals, incite racial or religious hatred, or are designed to instill a negative reaction in any specific demographic, beyond acceptable levels within North American media guidelines (games, movies, music, journalism) will be removed and have their accounts banned. Any content that would be deemed Mature or R by the film and video game industries must be appropriately labeled as “Adult”. Failure to do so may result in your account being banned.

Don't upload files that contain viruses, malware, spyware, adware, or any software or code that would compromise the integrity of a user's system or game. Similarly, don't upload broken files, or ones that are password protected in whole or in part. Also, don't upload compilations of a user's work, regardless of whether the author(s) have agreed or not. Good examples of this are “favorite character lists” or “best saved games lists”.

If you give permission to another author to use your work within their own submissions then, barring a breach of the terms you agreed on, you can't take back that permission once the other author's file has been released. Always log and store your conversations with other authors regarding permissions, preferably via private message on the Faces of Gaming Network forums.

If you make things unnecessarily difficult for the Faces of Gaming Network staff, we may decide to remove you, and any/all your submissions.

When uploading images for characters make sure they are relevant to the character, don't mislead people. This includes not properly labeling submissions with adult content in them.

Don't solicit for donations from the site or users, or ratings and votes for your content, at all.

Don't upload files requiring users to pay sum for parts of or your entire file. It's prohibited to charge money for files you upload to Faces of Gaming Network sites.

Faces of Gaming Network staff reserves the right to edit the details of your file (but not the files themselves), or remove it completely without warning or reason, at their own discretion. For example if your file contains graphic scenes including, but not limited to, nudity, sex, masturbation, rape or torture, then you increase your chances of Faces of Gaming Network staff removing your content.

If you see a file that breaches these rules it doesn't mean that the file has been permitted by the Faces of Gaming Network staff and that files of similar content are acceptable. Faces of Gaming Network staff may not have moderated that file, so report the file if you are suspicious.

These rules are open to interpretation by the moderators of the site, and they will remove any content they deem inappropriate for Faces of Gaming Network sites. We retain the right to remove or edit details of any file, at any time, for any reason, without warning.

Piracy

Piracy is strictly forbidden on the forums and Faces of Gaming Network sites. Moderators and Admins will take a proactive role in preventing and pursuing any acts of piracy; be it game, software, or copyrighted works.
